Visitor Program

In our experience, most countries we work with have a strong probability of getting visas approved. We provide you with the proper documentation for the J-1 visa and supporting letters. You will be interviewed by the US authorities, and they will ask you questions about the program, your motivation and your knowledge about dairy cows. You may also be required to show proof of ties to your country, such as titles of land your family owns, tax returns, bank accounts, letters from employers, etc. The final decision of approval always remains with the US government.
Some potential participants assume that using fraudulent documents or using outside influences (political contacts your family has, for example), assist with this process. Don't do this: it will result in an automatic denial of your visa.
If you are denied your visa, we can not do anything. The decision is with the US officials in your country. Please do not ask us to send additional faxes or emails, unless the US officials specifically tell you to present something additional (not normally the case).
If your visa is denied, you now have three choices:
1) You can usually try again--with additional documentation--at the US Embassy. (Check the papers presented to you at the US Embassy to make sure that they will allow to you apply again.) If you can have another interview quite soon, then you can still try again for this group. There is no additional cost charged by the program. However, the US Embassy typically charges you US$131 for each additional interview.
2) You can ask for a refund of the orientation fees, US $350 (or $40 additional for the September/October entry). Your representative will normally give this money back to you directly. If you paid Global Cow directly, to refund your money, we need an email or fax (not a phone call) with the following information: name on bank account, bank account number, name of bank, bank routing number, your mailing address and the bank's mailing address.
3) You can try again one additional time at a later date–provided that the program still has room to accept you. Participants are only allowed to try two times total, and we only allow the second attempt if we believe that there is as good reason that you would receive your visa the second time. Trying again requires new documentation to be sent to you, and the payment of an additional US$200 charge. You can pay this additional US$200 at orientation if you are successful in getting the visa the second time... or if you are denied again, we will refund US$150, instead of US$150 for the orientation portion.
The Global Cow Program is a hands-on training program for agricultural students or professionals in dairying. It is officially sponsored by Experience International in Everson, Washington.
