Visitor Program

Before hosts join the program, sometimes they want to know what happens if a participant wants to leave early. Our goal is for participants to complete their entire program at one placement. Every attempt is made to meet that goal. If there are serious problems that really can't be resolved--and it seems reasonable that a participant move to second placement, we attempt to find a second placement.
CAN A PARTICIPANT REQUEST A CHANGE OF PLACEMENT? If participants can not meet their training goals, they will be changed one time. This is why the information on the host application--especially about hours milking and exactly what sort of training can be expected--needs to be very clear and precise. Participants are not changed without a reasonable effort to resolve problems first. Participants or hosts must give two weeks notice, and will continue as before during these two weeks. There is a specific form used to identify and resolve problems before any changes will be made.
CAN A HOST ASK FOR A PARTICIPANT TO LEAVE HIS PLACEMENT? Yes, hosts can also ask for participants to leave. If hosts ask for a participant to leave, hosts must still house the participants for two weeks while the program finds a replacement host. Unless the host specifically does not want the participant to continue working (based on a serious problem), the participant must also continue his previous schedule.
CAN A HOST REQUEST A NEW PARTICIPANT? When a participant leaves, we recognize that this creates a problem for the host. If we agree that the host farm should continue on the program, we will match the host farm with a participant as fast as possible.
CAN A PARTICIPANT LEAVE THE PROGRAM, and GO HOME EARLY? Participants may leave the program at any time by advising Global Cow. Experience International will immediately cancel them from the program. Participants must leave the country within 10 days upon cancellation.
VISA DENIAL for PARTICIPANT: Global Cow will refund $350 of orientation fees if applicant does not obtain a visa.
EARLY DEPARTURE: If participant chooses to leave program early, unused savings are forfeited. Fees paid into the program are NOT refunded, including savings. The only exception is if a participant can no longer participate in the program, due to his own medical problem (confirmed by a doctor).
HOST REFUND POLICY: Host fees are not refundable.
The Global Cow Program is a hands-on training program for agricultural students or professionals in dairying. It is officially sponsored by Experience International in Everson, Washington.
