K-2nd Grade (Spanish & French!)

Arriba Spanish Soccer Camp

Location: Dummerston Grade School

Dates: July 9-13, 2007

Times: 3:30-6:30 PM

Price: $140

NEW THIS YEAR! Designed for the soccer enthusiast and active child who loves to "run and do"! Argentine-born and raised teacher Felipe will lead children in learning soccer skills and having fun with this true world sport--all in Spanish!

Learn the Spanish vocabulary for dribbling, passing, goals, balls, and other "futbol"-related words. Eat together while talking in Spanish and learning a bit more about Latin American soccer styles and favorite players. Felipe has coached soccer to young children in our area before, and looks forward to doing it in his native tongue this summer.

Campers should bring a snack, water bottle, and supper. Campers can wear cleats or regular tennis shoes, but should have shin guards.

This is held at Dummerston School fields; if it is really rainy, we will move indoors at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Arriba Day Camp

Location: Trinity Lutheran Church

Dates: August 6-10, 2007

Times: 9 AM - 1 PM

Price: $140

Day camp just like you everybody likes it...with fun in Spanish besides! Campers will play games, sing songs, make fun crafts, go on nature walks and more--all while talking in Spanish and learning some fundamentals. Campers will leave knowing some Spanish --and having had a lot of fun while doing so! Born and raised in Spain and a mom to a young son herself, teacher Raquel will lead this group energetically.

Campers should bring their own snack and lunch.

 

Allons-Y French

Location: Dummerston Grade School

Dates: July 9-13, 2007

Times: 10 AM- 1 PM

Price: $140

NEW THIS YEAR! Also designed for the soccer enthusiast and active child who loves to "run and do"--but this one, in FRENCH.

Join Hamidou, who hails from Cameroon, in French-speaking Africa. Hamidou will lead children in learning soccer skills and having fun with this true world sport--all in French!

Learn the French vocabulary for dribbling, passing, goals, balls, and other "football"-related words. Eat together while talking in Spanish and learning a bit more about Latin American soccer styles and their teams and cultures. Join Hamidou in his West African games as well.

Hamdiou is currently coaching in the area, and played on well-known teams in his native Cameroon.
